Ingredients:

Bread pieces - 1 cup

Jaggery - 1 cup

Ghee - 1/2 cup

Method:

1) Make small pieces of breads and keep aside.

2) Heat oil in the pan, add the bread pieces and fry till it becomes light brown. Keep aside.

3) Heat a separate pan, put jaggery and stir well it till it is fully melted. Add ghee and fried bread pieces and stir for a minute. Freeze the pieces for 5 minutes in freezer.

Pineapple-Mint Sandwich

Ingredients:

Pineapple - 1 cup (chopped)

Mint leaves - 1 tsp

Sugar - 2 tsps

Bread slices - 3

Butter - 1 tsp

Method:

1) Grind the chopped pineapple and mint leaves with sugar in a blender until well blend.

2) Spread butter on each side of all breads.

3) Dip one bread slice in the pineapple-mint pulp. Place the other two bread on top and bottom of the first bread (the dipped one).

4) Toast it using a toaster. Serve hot.

Mixed Veg Sandwich

Ingredients:

Beans - 1 no (chopped)

Carrot - 1 no (chopped)

Potato - 1 no ( boiled & mashed)

Onion - 1 no (chopped)

Corn - 2 tsp

Salt to taste

Redchilly powder - 1 tsp

Coriander powder - 1 tsp

Dry mango powder - 1/2 tsp

Jeera Powder - 1/2 tsp

Bread slices - 2

Butter - 1 tsp

Method:

1) Heat oil in pan, add the chopped onion and saute for a minute. Then add the chopped beans and carrot and fry sprinkling a little water till well cooked.

2) Now add the mashed potato and corn to it with salt, redchilly powder, coriander powder, jeera powder and dry mango powder and saute till the raw smell goes off.

3) Spread butter on both sides of each bread. Spread the vegetable masala between two breads and toast them. Serve Hot.

Egg Onion Sandwitch:

Ingredients:

Onion - 1 (finely chopped)

Coriander powder - 1 tsp

Redchilly powder - 1/2 tsp

Salt to taste

Egg - 1 (well beaten)

Bread - 3 slices

Butter - 2 tsp

Method:

1) Make a simple omelette with the egg and salt. Keep aside.

2) Heat oil in pan, add onion and saute till it becomes soft. Add coriander powder, redchilly powder and salt.

3) Saute till the raw taste goes off. Toast the breads, spread butter in both sides of each bread.

4) Fill in the onion masala in between two breads, keep the omelette on top and close with the third bread. Serve hot.



Dal curry with yam:




Ingredients:

yam - 1/2 cup (cut into cubes)

toor dal - 1 cup

tamarind - marble sized

salt to taste

tomato - 1

green peas - 1/2 cup

tumeric powder - 1/2 tsp

mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp

curry leaves

For spice paste

coriander seeds - 1 tsp

cumin seeds - 1 tsp

fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp

asafoetida - 1/2 tsp

chana dal - 1 tsp

urad dal - 1 tsp

curry leaves

red chilles - 3

Method:

1) Pressure cook the toor dal, green peas, yam, tomato (cutted) with 1 cup water and keep aside

2) soak tamarind in a cup of water and extract juice frm it. Heat oil in pan, add all ingredients of spice paste, fry for 2-3 minute. grind it with little water. keep aside.

3) Heat the dal in cooker, adding tumeric and salt. Now add tamarind juice and spice paste and stirr well for about 5 minute (in simmer).

4) cook it till the raw taste goes off. Now heat oil in another pan, put mustard seeds, curry leaves. after spluttering, add this to the above dal curry. serve hot.

Pineapple cola ice:

Pineapple juice - 1/2 cup

cola (or) pepsi - 1/2 cup

Method:

1) Mix both together, fill it in the ice tray. Poke a tooth pick on top and keep it for 2-3 hrs.

Onion Masala Paratha



Ingredients:

Onion - 1 (finely chopped)

Coriander powder - 1 tsp

Redchilly powder - 1/2 tsp

Salt to taste

Wheat flour - 3 cups

Method:

1) Mix wheat flour with 1/2 cup water and 2 tsp oil to make a stiff dough. Keep aside.

2) Heat oil in pan, add onion and saute till it becomes soft. Add coriander powder, redchilly powder and salt.

3) Saute till the raw taste goes off. Take little amount of dough. roll in roti maker a little, stuff in the onion masala, fold it in all sides.

4) And roll it again in form of a midium pancake. Heat the pan and cook the paratha, both sides. Serve Hot.

Rava Laddo Fry

Ingredients:

Rava/sooji - 2 cups

Jaggery - 1 cup (grated)

Coconut - 1 cup (grated)

Maida - 1/2 cup

Rice flour - 1/2 cup

Sugar - 2 tsp

Bread crumbs - 1 cup

Raisins - 1/2 cup

Method:

1) In a pan, fry the rava till it turns light brown. Keep aside.

2) Boil 1 cup water in a separate pan, add the fried rava and saute till all water evaporates.

3) Mix the maida and rice flour together with sugar and 1/3 cup of water. Keep aside.

4) Mix grated jaggery, coconut and raisins with the rava. Make small balls. Dip it in the flour batter. Roll it over the bread crumbs and deep fry in oil. Serve Hot.

Ingredients:

Potato - 1 (boiled and well mashed)

Dry mango powder - 1 tsp

Redchilly powder - 1 tsp

Salt to taste

Jeera powder - 1/2 tsp

Any mixture - 1 tsp (i used haldiram's mixture)

Bread slices - 3

Egg - 1

Lime juice - 1 tsp

Butter - 2 tsp

Method:

1) Make a simple omelette with egg and salt. Keep aside.

2) Mix the mashed potato with dry mango powder, redchilly powder, jeera powder, salt, mixture and Lime juice.

3) Spread butter in both sides of each bread. Spread the potato masala in between two breads. Keep the omelette on top and keep another bread on top.

4) Toast it using sandwitch toaster and serve hot.

Spicy Pineapple Sweet


Ingredients:

Pineapple - 1 cup (finely chopped)

Dry redchillies - 2 nos

Jaggery - 2 cups

Method:

1) Heat water in pan, add jaggery and stir well till well dissolved. Drain and keep aside.

2) Mix the jaggery water and chopped pineapple and let it boil till it becomes a jam like consistency.

3) In another pan, heat oil, put the red chillies and saute for a minute. Now mix the chillies with the pineapple content. Serve hot.

Potato - Corn Cutlet

Ingredients:

Potato - 2-3 nos

Corn - 1 cup

Dry mango powder - 1 tsp

Redchilly powder - 1 tsp

Salt to taste

Vinegar (or) Lime juice - 1 tsp

Jeera powder - 1/2 tsp

Corn Flour - 1/2 cup

Maida - 1/2 cup

Bread Crumbs - 1 cup

Method:

1) Pressure cook the potatoes until very well cooked. Mash it well. Keep aside.

2) Mix the mashed potatoes with corn, jeera powder, dry mango powder, salt, red chilly powder and vinegar.

3) Make small balls, flatten on top. Mix the corn flour and maida with 1/3 cup of water till it becomes a moderate consistent batter.

4) Heat oil in pan for deep frying. Dip the balls in the batter. Roll it over the bread crumbs and fry it in oil until it turns golden brown. Serve hot with sauce.

Egg White Salad

Ingredients:

Egg (or) egg whites - 2 (well beaten)

Corn - 1/2 cup

Onion -1 (finely chopped)

Tomato - 1 (finely chopped)

Ginger - Garlic paste - 1 tsp

Salt to taste

Vinegar - 1 tsp

Method:

1) Heat oil in pan, add the well beaten egg whites and corn. Stir well till it is well cooked and separated from pan.

2) Mix all the other ingredients in a bowl. Now add the cooked egg and corn mix and serve.

Pineapple - 1 cup (finely chopped)

Jaggery - 1 cup (grated)

Coconut - 1 cup (grated)

Sugar - 2 tsp

Maida - 1/2 cup

Corn flour - 1/2 cup

Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup

Method:

1) Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Heat oil in pan for deep frying, put the mixed content in batches and fry until it turns golden brown. Serve hot.

Sweet Chappathi

Ingredients:

Wheat flour - 1/4 kg

Jaggery - 1 cup (grated)

Coconut - 1 cup (grated)

Ghee - 2 tsp

Method:

1) Mix wheat flour with 1/3 cup of water and oil to knead smooth dough.

2) Leave it for an hour. Make small balls, smear them with flour and roll them on a rolling board.

3) Stuff in the grated jaggery and coconut. Fold it and again roll them to make a small round shape.

4) Heat the pan, spread ghee, put the chappathi and cook both sides. Spread ghee on both sides. Serve Hot.

Pineapple - Orange Juice

Pineapple - Chopped (1 cup)

Orange Juice - 1 cup ( I used pulpy orange)

Mint leaves - 1 tsp

Sugar (or) Honey - 2 tsp

Method:

1) Blend all the above ingredients in a blender thoroughly

2) Serve chilled with crushed ice.

Prawns fry

Hi friends,

Just saw this recipe in a tv show and tried, came out really well. So i wanted to share this with all my friends here.




Ingredients:

Prawns - 1/2 kg

Maida - 1 handful

Rice flour - 1 handful

Corn flour - 1 handful

Redchilly powder - 1 tsp

Coriander powder - 1 tsp

Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tsp

Tumeric powder - 1/2 tsp

Lemon juice - 1 tsp

Pepper powder - 1 tsp

Curd - 1 tsp

Curry leaves

Salt to taste

Method:

1) Mix all the ingredients expect curry leaves in a bowl and allow it to marinate for about 1-2 hours.

2) Heat oil in pan, add curry leaves and deep fry the prawns in batches. Add lemon juice before serving.

Wheat Dosa:




Ingredients:

Wheat flour - 3 cups

Green chillies - 2 nos (finely chopped)

Egg - 1 nos (or) Rava - 2 tsps

Onion - 1 no (chopped)

Few curry leaves

Salt to taste


Method:

1) Mix all these ingredients in a bowl with 1 cup of water till it becomes a pouring batter.

2) Heat the tava, pour the batter in a form of pancake. After one side is cooked, turn it to the other side and cook till it becomes a brown colour. Serve Hot with chutney.

Sweet Kozhukatai:


Ingredients:

Rice flour - 3 cups

Jaggery - 2 cups (grated)

Coconut - 2 cups (grated)

Method:

1) Mix rice flour with 2 cups of water and make it a stiff batter. (like the one we make for chapathi)

2) Mix the grated jaggery and coconut together. Keep aside.

3) Spread little amount of the rice flour batter in hand. Stuff in the jaggery - coconut mixture in it. and make it in small oval shapes.

4) Steam the kozhukatai in idly cooker for 15 - 20 minutes. Serve hot.

Simple Rice Sweet:

Ingredients:

Rice - 1 cup

Jaggery - 1 cup (grated)

Coconut - 1 cup (grated)

Method:

1) Fry rice in a pan for a minute, grind it (it should not be powdered) in mixie.

2) Now mix the grinded rice, jaggery and coconut together in a bowl. Keep it marinated for 1/2 hour and then serve.


Moong dal and Rice sweet:


Ingredients:

Moong dal - 1 cup

Rice - 1/2 cup

Milk - 1 cup

Jaggery - 2 cups

Cashewnut - 2 tsp

raisins - 2 tsp


Method:

1) Fry moong dal in a pan for 2 minutes. Keep aside.

2) Fry rice for 2 minutes, mix fried moong dal with rice in pan. Add 2 cups of water and let it boil.

3) When rice is half cooked, add milk. When milk becomes half, add jaggery and 2 cups of water and stir well.

4) Stir at regular intervals till the mixture becomes like a paste. Garnish with cashews and raisins. Serve Hot.
